Vietnam’s culture and cuisine were introduced at an exchange jointly held by the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Malaysia and the Vietnamese Embassy in the country on August 28.
Spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Van Thi Le Hien voiced hope that the event will contribute to enhancing understanding and solidarity between ASEAN women and residents, as well as to building an ASEAN Community of peace, prosperity and sustainable development.
President of the ASEAN Women’s Association in Malaysia Phongsamouth Anlavan briefed participants on her association’s activities in 2015, including relief aids to victims of flooding in Eastern Malaysia and earthquakes in Nepal, and relevant events within the framework of ASEAN.
She expressed her thank to the Vietnamese Women’s Association for organising the meaningful event, which she said helps promote culture and cuisine of ASEAN nations while bringing women in the ten-member group closer.
