Prague (VNA) – A “Day ofVietnamese Culture” was held in Brno city in the South Moravian region of theCzech Republic on September 13.
The event was organised by the chapter ofthe Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic in the South Moravian region, withthe support of authorities of Brno city, as part of activities in preparationfor the 20th founding anniversary of the association in October 2019and the 70th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in February2020.
Speaking at the opening ceremony,Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan said the event isdesigned to promote Vietnamese culture to people in the European nation andstrengthen the bonds between the Vietnamese community in the country and localpeople.
He voiced his hope that through the “Day ofVietnamese Culture”, Vietnamese people living in the Czech Republic in generaland Brno city in particular will work to enhance mutual understanding andsolidarity between the two countries.
Marek Fisher, a member of the Brno CityCouncil, said the event fosters exchanges between the Czech people and theVietnamese community in the country and helps local residents gain an insightinto the Vietnamese culture.
Popular dishes of Vietnam were served atthe event, along with art performances featuring the country’s traditionalmusical instruments./.
