Vietnamese community in France honours President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy

Paris (VNA)🌺 – A series of commemorative events were organised across France to mark the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh by the Vietnamese Embassy in coordination with representative agencies, the Vietnamese community, and French friends.
On May 19, an incense offering ceremony was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris, followed by a floral tribute at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau Park, Montreuil, an emblematic site celebrating his enduring legacy.
During a visit to the “Ho Chi Minh Space” at the Living History Museum (Musée de l’Histoire Vivante) in Montreuil, Yann Leroy, member of the Montreuil City Council, reflected on the late President’s lasting impact, describing him as a symbol of unity and a reminder that a better world is built through solidarity.

Earlier, on May 16, the commemorative programme began with a visit to Sainte-Adresse, where President Ho Chi Minh once lived and worked. At a wreath-laying ceremony there, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang hailed President Ho Chi Minh as a powerful symbol of Vietnam’s resilient spirit and a global advocate for peace and national independence.
Deputy Mayor of Sainte-Adresse Luc Lefèvre highlighted Vietnam’s rising international stature, noting its strong education system, dynamic growth, and its position as a leading economy in Southeast Asia.
The official celebration on May 18 at the Vietnam Cultural Centre in France drew a large number of attendees, including overseas Vietnamese and local friends.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO, emphasised that the commemoration served as a meaningful occasion to honour President Ho Chi Minh’s profound contributions to Vietnam’s independence and reunification, and to reflect on his lasting legacy in the world.
The event featured valuable archival footage and artistic performances by Vietnamese students and cultural artists, fostering pride and a deep sense of cultural connection among participants./.
To people around the world, President Ho Chi Minh is not only an outstanding leader and brilliant communist, but also a respected comrade, beloved teacher, and close friend.
Latin American friends have expressed their admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, who led the Vietnamese people to victories and whose thought continues to guide the country’s development. They said Ho Chi Minh’s famous view- “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom” - became a rallying cry for peace-loving people across Latin America.
The book, "Nguyen Ai Quoc case in Hong Kong 1931–1933", contains valuable documents and images divided into three sections, covering the French colonial surveillance of Nguyen Ai Quoc, his arrest and legal proceedings in Hong Kong, and his ties with the Loseby lawyer family.
Addressing the meeting, Party General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at meeting a large number of Vietnamese living and working in the RoK, acknowledging and appreciating their efforts in contributing to the growing Vietnam–RoK partnership.
He also welcomed the “Vietnam Private Sector Panorama” as a platform for dialogue, awareness-raising, and inspiring a wealth-creation movement, emphasising that it must deliver tangible results.
