Vietnamese, Chinese Party officials discuss measures to step up cooperative ties

Beijing (VNA) – Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) CentralCommittee and Chairman of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for ExternalRelations Le Hoai Trung on March 22 met with high-ranking officials of theCommunist Party of China (CPC) during his working trip to China.

TheChinese officials included Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of thePolitical Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the CPC CentralCommittee’s Secretariat and Chief of the CPC Central Committee’s Office; andWang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Office of the CPC CentralCommittee’s Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Trungbriefed the Chinese officials on his working visit to China and his annualmeeting with the Chairman of the CPC Central Committee's International LiaisonDepartment, which, he said, aimed to realise common perceptions reached byhigh-ranking leaders of the two Parties and countries, exchange views onadvising their respective Party Central Committees to foster exchanges andcooperation through the Party channel and promote the bilateral ties indifferent fields.

Hetalked about the general outcomes achieved after three years ofimplementing the resolution adopted by the 13th National Congress of the CPVand working orientations for the coming time.  

TheVietnamese Party, State and people highly value and appreciate the positivedevelopment in the relations between the two Parties and countries sinceGeneral Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit toChina and General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of ChinaXi Jinping’s visit to Vietnam, he said.

Theofficial proposed both sides strive to effectively realise the high-levelcommon perceptions, strengthen political trust, consolidate an environment ofpeace and stability, and improve the effectiveness of collaboration acrossvarious sectors.

Thetwo sides should continue increasing high-level meetings and exchanges,especially among the top leaders; and step up exchanges between agencies oftheir Party Central Committees and local Party committees, while also boostingcoordination in economy, trade, transport connectivity and coordinating effortsto reinforce a solid social foundation for the bilateral ties, he said.

TheChinese officials expressed their joy at the significant, substantive andcomprehensive progress in the relations between the two Parties and countries,particularly following the historic visits of the two Party leaders in 2022 and2023, and the agreement to build the Vietnam-China Community with a sharedfuture.

Theybelieved that Vietnam will successfully fulfill goals and tasks outlined in theResolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

TheChinese Party, State and people consider developing the relations with Vietnamas a priority in China's neighbourhood diplomacy, they said.

Caiaffirmed that China supports Vietnam in playing a bigger role in the region andon the international stage, raising the voice of developing countries inaddressing international issues.

Forhis part, Wang proposed coordinated efforts to strongly promote exchanges andcooperation at all levels and sectors in an increasingly effective, balancedand sustainable manner to better meet the interests of both countries’ people.

Effortsshould be made to maintain peace and stability, and control and well settledifferences at sea in line with high-level common perceptions, he said.

Whilein Beijing, Trung also engaged in discussions with Xie Chun Tao, member of theCPC’s Central Committee and Standing Vice President of the CPC’s CentralParty School; and held talks with experts of the Chinese Academy of SocialSciences and the China Foreign Affairs University; and visitedXiong'an new area in Hebei province./.
