Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnameseand Cambodian officers jointly reviewed results of border protection coordinationover the recent time at a working session in Senmonorom city of Mondulkiri province,Cambodia, on June 13.
The working session was co-chaired by Colonel Nguyen Van Lu - Commander of the BorderGuard Force of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong and Colonel Ton Chay -Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff of Mondulkiri province's Military Zone.
Participant at the event heard that in the first six months of 2019, Dak Nong’sborder forces and Mondulkiri’s Military Zone worked closely to strictly implementcontents agreed by the two sides in a manner of solidarity, friendship, peace,stability, and cooperation for mutual development.
The two sides’ border protection forces comprehensively coordinated to wellcarry out the border management and protection work, maintain border securityand safety, and protect achievements in border demarcation and land-markingalong the border area shared between the two localities, and solve in a timelyway the cases arising along border areas.
Bilateral patrols were also organised for inspecting the system of bordermarkers.
They also worked together to raise public awareness of preventing crimes andnot cover up all kinds of crimes aimed at causing political insecurity inborder areas.
The two sides agreed to continue close coordination in fighting and preventing casesarising in the border areas shared between the two localities in line with theagreement on border regulations thatthey had inked.-VNA
