Ankara (VNA) ꦍ– Vietnamese Ambassador to Türkiye Dang Thi Thu Ha recently paid courtesy calls to Turkish Minister of National Defence Yasar Guler and President of the Defence Industry Agency of Türkiye (SSB) Haluk Gorgun, as she began her new term.

Ambassador Ha highlighted great potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Türkiye, citing historical and cultural similarities, and a shared pursuit of a foreign policy of independence and self-reliance aimed at fostering global and regional peace and stability. These, she added, lay important groundwork to boost bilateral friendship and cooperation. She voiced admiration for Türkiye’s rapid progress in defence industries and proposed new areas for partnership, believing that the upcoming Vietnam visits by leaders of the Turkish defence ministry and SSB would inject fresh momentum into bilateral relations.
The host leaders stressed that Türkiye considers Vietnam an important partner in Asia and wished for deeper defence ties, which have gained traction in recent years. SSB President Gorgun underscored Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s November 2023 visit to Türkiye as a major milestone in bilateral ties.
Minister Guler expressed interest in expanding collaboration and thanked Vietnam for the support of Türkiye’s engagement with ASEAN.
