Hanoi (VNA) – A 55-member Vietnamese spor𒁏t delegation will take part in the Children of Asia International Sports Games scheduled for July 4-17 in Russia, according to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.
Vietnamese athletes will compete in six of 22 events, including taekwondo, swimming, track-and-field, chess, wrestling and boxing.
The games, the sixth of its kind, draws athletes from 39 nations competing in such sports as basketball, volleyball, wrestling, judo, kurash, track-and-field, table tennis, weightlifting, swimming, shooting, archery, gymnastics and football.
The Children of Asia International Sports Games are held every four years since 1996 in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) of Russia.-VNA

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
