Moscow (VNA) – The Vietnamese Defence Ministry plans to send seventeams to compete in six categories at the International Army Games 2020 scheduledfor mid-August in Russia.
The competitions will also take place inBelarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka.
Held for the firsttime in 2015, Army Games 2020 is expected to be the largest multilateral militaryevent this year with over 440,000 soldiers taking part,an eight-fold increase from 2019.
Russian DefenceMinister Sergey Shoigu said the International Military-Technical Forum 2020will also be held during the period.

Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Defence Minister, and a high-ranking delegation from the VPA left Vietnam on August 13 to start an official visit to Russia and attend the closing ceremony of the Army Games 2019 there.
General Luong Cuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission’s standing board, and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, on October 22 held talks with visiting Sen. Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
