Vietnam to host Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2018

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has recently made several requests regarding the organisation of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2018 (ABU Robocon 2018), scheduled for August 26 in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has recently made several requests regardingthe organisation of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2018 (ABU Robocon 2018),scheduled for August 26 in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

It will bethe third year Vietnam has organised the event.

Specifically,he asked Vietnam Television to partner with the provincial People’s Committeeand concerned units to hold the competition in line with regulations, ensuringupmost safety and effectiveness.

Accordingto the organising board, the theme of the competition is inspired by Vietnamesefolk game “nem con” (throwing ball through the ring).

Participatingteams will be required to design unique and colourful balls that requireaccuracy, techniques, and skills. -VNA

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
