Hanoi (VNA) – A high-rankꦑing military delegationof Vietnam left Hanoi on April 22 to attend the 8th Moscow Conference on InternationalSecurity (MCIS 8) from April 23-25 at the invitation of the Ministry of Defenceof Russia.

The delegation is led by Senior Lieutenant General Phan VanGiang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and DeputyMinister of Defence. Vietnam’s participation in the event aims to affirm thecountry’s proactive role and sense of responsibility towards international andregional issues, and at the same time present the country’s position onsecurity and development issues of world and regional interests, thus throughwhich protecting national interests. This is also an opportunity for leaders of the DefenceMinistry to hold high-level meetings with their Russian counterparts,contributing to strengthening ties between the armies of the two countries inline with the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership. Sen. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang is scheduled to deliver aspeech at the first plenary session and hold bilateral meetings.-VNA
