Vietnam Tennis Federation to host six int’l tournaments in 2018

The Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) will hosted 10 domestic and six international tournaments in 2018, VTF announced at a press conference on November 22.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam TennisFederation (VTF) will hosted 10 domestic and six international tournaments in2018, VTF announced at a press conference on November 22.

The domestic tournaments include VTF Pro Tour 1in central Da Nang city in February, VTF Pro Tour 2 in central Thua Thien-Hueprovince in April, VTF Pro Tour 3 in Khanh Hoa in June and VTF Pro Tour 4 in HoChi Minh City in August.

VTF Junior Tour 1 is slated for Dak Lak inMarch, while VTF Junior Tour 2 will take place in Tay Ninh in June, VTF JuniorTour 3 in Can Tho in August and VTF Junior Tour 4 in Ho Chi Minh City inNovember.

A national championship will be held in Hanoiin October and the championship of Vietnam outstanding players will be hostedby Nghe An in December.

Meanwhile, the international events include theinternational U14 tournament group 2 in Ho Chi Minh City in January, Davis Cupgroup 3 for Asia-Pacific region in April, ITF U18 group 4 – Becamex Cup in BinhDuong in April and Men Futures F1, F2 and F3 in Thua Thien-Hue province inApril and May.

The international U18 tournament group 4 isscheduled for Ho Chi Minh City in July and the Vietnam Open will be held inHanoi in October.

The VTF also revealed regulations of theVietravel Cup 2017 that will take place in Nghe An from December 17-22, with eightmale and eight female players competing, as well as six male duos and six femaleduos.

Speaking at the conference, VTF PresidentNguyen Quoc Ky said that in 2018, the federation will use the tournament systemof the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and International Association ofTennis Professionals in point counting and cash awards.

The federation will also help players joindifferent domestic and international tournaments.

The federation hopes that Vietnam will haverepresentatives in the world’s top 100 players, while becoming one of the top tenniscountries in ASEAN and Asia, he said.-VNA
