Vietnam strives to earn 250 million USD from tea exports in 2017

Vietnam’s tea sector is aiming to export 150,000 tonnes and earn a turnover of 250 million USD in 2017, announced the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s tea sector is aiming to export 150,000 tonnes andearn a turnover of 250 million USD in 2017, announced the Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Thesector also targets selling about 50,000 tonnes of tea for domesticconsumption, earning about 10 trillion VND (439.9 million USD).


Torealise the target, the MARD advised processing firms to connect with teagrowers and control the manufacturing process, while ensuring food safety andgrasping technical barriers of importers.

Theministry will increase trade promotion activities and provide support forbusinesses to participate in domestic and international trade fairs.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
