Hanoi (VNA) – A working delegation from the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van recently held separate bilateral talks with Chinese and Malaysian sides to bolster collaboration in construction and urban development to a deep and substantive fashion.

The activities took place in the framework of the 2025 China – ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable on Construction in Nanning, China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, opening up new cooperation opportunities for the Vietnamese construction sector, according to the Ministry of Construction.

In talks with Vice Minister of Housing and Urban – Rural Development of China Li Xianlong, both sides spoke highly of their cooperation achievements over the recent past and exchanged updates on new development orientations.

Van highlighted Vietnam’s strategic renewal to create breakthrough development in the coming time. Meanwhile, Li introduced China’s high-quality development model which emphasises good homes, good apartments, good urban areas, and good communities anchored in digitalisation and advanced technologies.

Both sides concurred to establish new cooperation mechanisms, with priority given to such potential areas as technology-driven urban planning, completion of construction standards, mobilisation of private capital for infrastructure, and human resources training.

The Vietnamese delegation also had a working session with the Guangxi Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, which shared experience in urban renovation, social housing, smart city initiatives, and digital applications in construction.

♚ During talks with Malaysian Minister of Housing and Local Government Nga Kor Ming, both sides expressed their delight at the robust partnership and agreed to expedite the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on housing cooperation. Malaysia also proposed exploring the launch of another direct flight route between the two countries to facilitate trade and investment. Technical agencies from both sides will continue working on the details of future cooperation./.
