Vietnam, Singapore bolster youth cooperation

The Vietnam National Committee on Youth and the National Youth Council (NYC) of Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for 2017-2020 in Hanoi on April 18.

Hanoi (VNA) – The VietnamNational Committee on Youth and the National Youth Council (NYC) of Singaporesigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for 2017-2020 inHanoi on April 18.

First Secretary of the HCM Communist YouthUnion Le Quoc Phong, who is also Chairman of the Vietnamese committee, statedthat the signing of the MoU is the follow-up of success the two sides achievedin the past time.

Under the MoU, the two sides will continuemaintaining delegation exchanges and sending delegates to major youth-relatedevents in each country.

They will actively coordinate in organisingvoluntary activities for young people, while intensifying exchanges betweenyoung entrepreneurs and cooperation in start-ups.

Grace Fu, Singaporean Minister for Culture,Community and Youth and NYC Chairperson, said that Singapore highly values therole of youths of ASEAN nations, including Vietnam, as they are playing anincreasingly important role in each nation.

In the time ahead, Singaporean youths willcontinue working with Vietnamese peers to further consolidate the twocountries’ relations, she added.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
