Duc’s designpersuaded the jury with letter V stylised sea waves and a red sunrunning above the words “5th Asian Beach Games, Khanh Hoa, Viet Nam2016”.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Can Truong from Hanoiwas prized for his mascot design featuring swallow – the bird typicalfor Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, where all competitions of the Games will takeplace.
Launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sportsand Tourism’s Sport Administration in April 2012, the contest received198 works across the nation, including 155 logo and 43 mascot designs.
According to Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai, thecontest organising board will send the results to the Asian OlympicCouncil to decide.
After officially chosen, the logo and mascot will be made public and used throughout the event.
Held for the first time in Vietnam, the 5th ABG will see theparticipation of athletes from 45 countries and territories.-VNA
