Vietnam sees no new COVID-19 cases, total stands at 1,049
The COVID-19 tally in Vietnam remains at 1,049 as the country continued to have no new COVID-19 cases to report within 12 hours as of 6am of September 8, according to the national steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control.

Hanoi (VNA) – The COVID-19 tally in Vietnamremains at 1,049 as the country continued to have no new COVID-19 cases toreport within 12 hours as of 6am of September 8, according to the nationalsteering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control.
Of the total, 691 were infected with thecoronavirus SARS-CoV-2 domestically, including 551 linked with central Da Nangcity since the latest outbreak began there on July 25.
As many as 854 patients have recovered while 35have succumbed to the disease. Most of the fatalities were the elderly withserious underlying health conditions.
Among those still under treatment, 14 havetested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 19 others twice and 33 thrice.
There are 37,474 people having close contactwith confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine atpresent, including 834 in hospitals, 13,365 in other quarantine sites and23,274 at home or accommodation facilities./.
