Hanoi (VNA) -
Vietnam are seeded in pot three in the 2019 AsianFootball Confederation Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

They are one of the 12 teams advancing to the finals after recentlyconcluded qualifiers.

Vietnam are currently World No 103, a leaf of 10 steps up after their 1-1 drawagainst Jordan in the qualifying round.

Five others in this pot are Lebanon, Palestine, Oman, India and Kyrgyzstan.Among them, Kyrgyzstan were the biggest movers in the FIFA Ranking - up by anastonishing 40 places.

Meanwhile, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Bahrain,Jordan, Yemen and Turkmenistan make up the final six teams in pot four.

The 12 teams, who received an automatic bye into the finals after qualifyingfor the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018-Asian Qualifiers Final Round, have alreadysecured their places in pots one and two based on FIFA’s latest ranking.

This means hosts UAE, along with Iran, defending champions Australia and thetournament’s most successful team, Japan, as well as the Republic of Korea andSaudi Arabia will take pole position in pot one.

China, Syria, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Qatar and Thailand have been seeded in pot two.

The Asian Cup’s draw will take place on May 4 in Dubai.-VNA
