Hanoi (VNA) – Three Vietnamese football clubs will directly enter thefinals of the Asia Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League and AFC Cup in2021 following the AFC’s recent changes to qualifying rules.

Under the newrules, the champion of the 2020 V.League 1 will automatically qualify for thegroup stage of next year’s AFC Champions League.

Meanwhile, theVietnam Football Federation (VFF) will send the winner and runner-up of theNational Cup to compete in the AFC Cup’s group stage.

In case HanoiFC, which has won the National Cup this year, also grab the 2020 V.League 1 title, the two slots at the AFC Cup will go to therunner-up and the second runner-up.
