Vietnam, RoK increase labour cooperation

The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labour (MOEL) held a seminar in Hanoi on September 9 to increase labour and employment cooperation between the two countries.

At the event,the two sides reviewed the results of cooperation over the past time andput forward future concrete activities. They agreed that experts fromboth ministries will negotiate for the early signing of a specialMemorandum of Understanding between them.

The RoK sidehighly valued Vietnam’s efforts in reducing the number of illegalworkers living in the country, affirming to work closely with Vietnam inspeeding up the implementation of a cooperative programme on sendingVietnamese labourers to the country, said MOEL Minister Phang Ha-nam.

During the seminar, the two sides inked a cooperation agreement onlabour and employment. In addition to existing cooperative realmsincluding labour hygiene and safety, vocational training and socialinsurance, the agreement focuses on expanding bilateral cooperation toseveral new ones such as labour management and improving sustainableemployment.-VNA
