Vietnam has shown its attractiveness as a sustainable and long-term investment destination thanks to the country's numerous advantages, according to CEO of Nestle Vietnam Binu Jacob.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has shown its attractiveness as a sustainable andlong-term investment destination thanks to the country's numerous advantages, accordingto CEO of Nestle Vietnam Binu Jacob.

Speakingto the Vietnam News Agency, he said that Vietnam, with a population of 100million, has a young workforce and enjoying a golden population structure,which gives the country great opportunities in socio-economic development.

Vietnamis also showing active regional and global economic integration, while owning askilled and enthusiastic workforce, he added.

Despiteimpacts from COVID-19, Nestle Vietnam has announced that it will pumpan additional 132 million USD in Vietnam to double its production of high-qualitycoffee products in Vietnam, raising the company's total investment tonearly 730 million USD.

Nestleis confident in Vietnam’s future prospects as a global and regional productioncentre, he said, stressing that the company will continue to expand sustainableinvestment activities in the Southeast Asian country. Nestle is proud to be one of the pioneeringcompanies making foreign direct investment in Vietnam, thus contributing to the sustainableand inclusive growth of the country, he stated.

The CEO said that during the past two decades in Vietnam,Nestle has received great support from the Vietnamese Government, ministries,sectors, agencies and localities.

Nestlecommits to help with the completion of “dual targets” given by the VietnameseGovernment, and supports the strategic policy orientations of Vietnam in livingsafely with COVID-19 and reopening the economy, he said, stressing the need forimmediate actions.

Heheld that one of the important factors deciding the success of an enterprise ispolicy support and specific actions from the Government in encouraging thedevelopment of businesses in general and private companies in particular.

Jacob lauded the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in improving institutions,making the investment and business environment more open and healthier.

Heexpressed his delight that the Vietnamese Government has listened to opinions of theprivate business community, especially FDI enterprises, and appreciated theVietnamese Government’s priority to COVID-19 vaccination in Ho Chi Minh Cityand the southern economic region./.
