Vietnam recognises Indian organisation’s contributions

A delegation from the Vietnam-India Friendship Association (VIFA) led by Vice Chairman Ha Minh Hue recently attended the national conference of the All-India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) in Kerala State, India.

New Delhi (VNA) – A delegation from the Vietnam-India Friendship Association(VIFA) led by Vice Chairman Ha Minh Hue recently attended the nationalconference of the All-India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) in KeralaState, India.

On behalf of theVIFA, Hue presented the association’s certificate of merit to the AIPSO inrecognition of its contributions to enhancing the relations between the twocountries and their people. 

The VIFA also offeredthe “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to four representativesfrom the AIPSO for their efforts and contributions to strengthening theVietnam-India friendship and cooperation.

The January 19conference, attended by over 300 representatives from the AIPSO memberorganisations across India, issued a statement affirming the organisation’sdetermination to foster struggles for peace, social development and equality.

The Trivandrumstatement stressed the need to enhance solidarity among people from countriesin the context of complicated situations in West Asia, the Middle East, LatinAmerica, and Asia Pacific, especially tensions in the East Sea, which pose greatchallenges to forces struggling for peace and justice worldwide.

In the nextfive-year tenure, the AIPSO will work closely with Indian people from all walksof life and progressive forces across the globe to promote struggles for peace,progress and development, and enhance solidarity with countries and movementsfor independence, democracy and social equality.

The conferencealso issued a Resolution on climate change adaptation, affirming that alongwith activities for peace and war prevention, the fight against climate changeis a new goal of the AIPSO.

Participants heardthat the AIPSO made great achievements over the last five years. Itsuccessfully organised eight India-Vietnam friendship festivals in the twocountries, and mass activities to call for support for the struggles ofPalestinian, Cuban and Syrian people as well as those for the right of Indianlabourers.

Set up more than60 years ago, the AIPSO gathers almost all political parties and massorganisations in India. It is an anti-imperialist, democratic andmulti-tendency people’s forum committed to the cause of peace and internationalcooperation across the globe. It has been the vanguard in activities supportingVietnam in the past as well as the country’s current national construction anddefence.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
