Singapore (VNA) – Vietnam ran a national space spanning 100sq.m at Asia’s largesttelecommunications exhibition CommunicAsia 2018, which took place in Singaporebetween June 26 and 28.

Themed“Connect the Future”, the exhibition attracted the participation of about 2,000businesses from 50 countries and territories.

TheVietnamese space, organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications,gathered representatives from the Vietnam Association for InformationProcessing, Vietnam Post and Telecommunication (VNPT), MobiFone, and MQ ICTSolutions. It displayed the latest information and communications technologydeveloped by Vietnamese engineers.

The VNPTintroduced a series of Internet of Thing (IoT) solutions for the management ofsmart city, smart tourism, and smart agriculture, among others, based on theIoT Connected Platform. The platform was developed by the VNPT Technology andhelped its developer won a Gold Stevie Award in 2018.

MobiFone,meanwhile, showcased its four IT solutions, including the journey trackermTracker and distribution channel management mSale.

CommunicAsia,together with BroadcastAsia, and the new NXTAsia, form ConnecTechAsia – theregion’s answer to the converging worlds of Telecommunications, Broadcastingand Emerging Technologies.

The organiser said the event drew more than 30,000 visitors during its3-day course. -VNA

👍 Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
