Vietnam presents donation to aid Japan’s flood relief

The Vietnamese Government has presented Japan with a 100,000 USD donation to aid the reconstruction effort after the country was severely hit by torrential rains and floods earlier this month.

Hanoi (VNA) –The Vietnamese Government has presented Japan with a 100,000 USD donation toaid the reconstruction effort after the country was severely hit by torrentialrains and floods earlier this month.

The Foreign Ministry’srepresentative handed over the donation to Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam UmedaKunio on July 19.

The ambassadorexpressed gratitude towards the valuable and timely support from the VietnameseGovernment and people for Japanese people.

Vietnamese PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a message of condolence on July 8 to hisJapanese counterpart, Shinzo Abe, over the great human and asset losses causedby the deadly floods and landslides in Japan.

The same day, DeputyPrime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also expressed his sympathiesto Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono. –VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
