Hanoi (VNA) – The women's national team hastravelled to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to prepare for upcoming matches at the 2024AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup slated for March 3-16.
According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), CoachAkira Ijiri and his players departed at 1 PM on September 21 from Hanoi’s NoiBai International Airport.
With the early departure, the squad will have more time to acclimatiseto the weather conditions and competition in Tashkent, especially given thecity’s current below-10-degree-Celsius temperature and heavy snow.
On the afternoon of February 20, a list of 25 playerstraveling to Uzbekistan were announced. While in the Central Asian nation, theyare planned to participate in two friendly matches against the host team.
The cup will see eight teams competing in a round-robinformat, with the top two from Group A and B advancing to the semi-finals.
