Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Airlines andLOT Polish Airlines have signed a cooperation agreement to bring more benefitsand travel options to their passengers.
The signing ceremony took place as PolishPresident Andrzej Duda visited Vietnam this week.
Under the agreement, passengers can buytickets from Vietnam Airlines or LOT to make the journey between Hanoi /Ho Chi MinhCity and Warsaw, Poland via the transshipment points of Paris, Frankfurt, Moscowand London. Vietnam’s national flag carrier will carry passengers between Vietnamand these transit points, while LOT will transport passengers between thesetransit points and Warsaw.
From Warsaw, passengers can continue theirjourney on LOT flights to many other Polish and European destinations.
The cooperation agreement also givespassengers preferential rates when buying tickets from Vietnam Airlines or LOT,compared to the purchase of tickets for each leg of every airline to conducttheir entire journey.
According to Deputy General Director ofVietnam Airlines Trinh Ngoc Thanh, Vietnam Airlines and LOT have cooperatedsince 1998.
During the period from 2011-16, the numberof visitors between Vietnam and Poland grew 5.5 percent per year and reachedapproximately 24,000 visitors in 2016. Of these, more than 90 percent werevisitors from Poland to Vietnam.-VNA
