Vietnam has been named Asia's best river cruise destination at this year's World Cruise Awards - the sister event to the World Travel Awards.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam has been namedAsia's best river cruise destination at this year's World Cruise Awards - thesister event to the World Travel Awards.

The World Cruise Awards is the global initiative torecognise and reward excellence in the cruise industry.

To claim the title, Vietnam has surpassed four otherrivals - Cambodia, China, Laos and Thailand.

The announcement of the awards follows a year-long search for theworld’s leading cruise brands. Votes were cast by cruise industry professionalsand the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named asthe winner.

Vietnam has a dense river network with 2,360rivers with a length of more than 10 km long.

In recent years, river cruise tours passing famedattractions have become a not-to-be-missed experience while visiting Vietnam,including tours to floating markets in the Mekong Delta region and waterwaytours in Ho Chi Minh City and the central city of Da Nang.

In October, the World Travel Awards honored Vietnamas Asia's Leading Destination 2021 and Asia's Leading Sustainable TourismDestination 2021.

Also in October, the World Golf Awards named Vietnamas Asia’s Best Golf Destination and World’s Best Golf Destination./.
