Vietnam’s national futsal team were defeated 7-0 by Russia in the round of 16 at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Medellin, Colombia, on September 21.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vi🐬etnam’s nation🌃al futsal team were defeated 7-0 by Russia in the round of 16 at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Medellin, Colombia, on September 21.

World No.3 Russia dominated the match, scoring four goals in the first half.
In the second half, while Vietnam did create occasional opportunities, Russia secured a routine win with three more goals. Vietnam’s futsal national team made history by reaching the knockout stage of the FIFA Futsal World Cup in its first appearance at the event in Colombia.
They secured the berth as one of the best third-placed teams after finishing Group C with one win and two losses. They beat Guatemala 4-2 in the opening match but lost the next two matches against Paraguay and Italy. The national team rank 39th in the world.-VNA
