Vietnam looks to tighten education cooperation with France

On June 5, Luanjoined education ministers of 44 other state members of theInternational Organisation of La Francophonie at the Meeting ofFrancophone Education Ministers on the development of a French-languagedigital space.

They focused discussions ondigital sources, and how to develop the digital system to increase thequality of teaching in tertiary education.

Theyalso agreed to intensify information sharing and the use of digitalacademic materials at higher education facilities through theestablishment of a Francophone e-portal.

On June8, the Vietnamese official held talks with Najat Vallaud-Belkacem,French Minister of Education, Higher Education and Research, duringwhich they discussed and agreed on several measures to foster bilateralties in education and training, particularly scholarship provision, andVietnamese-language teaching for overseas Vietnamese in France.

They also signed an agreement between the two ministries in the recognition of training qualification for students.

In her interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, the Frenchminister said that her ministry will consider updating scholarshipgranting policies for Vietnamese students.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
