Vietnam, Laos share law-making experience

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) PhungQuoc Hien hosted a reception for head of the Economic, Technology andEnvironment Committee of the Lao National Assembly Bounpone Sisoulath in Hanoion January 9.

Hien highlighted Vietnam’s consistent policies of treasuring and givingtop priority to the preservation and promotion of the special ties with Laos,affirming that Vietnam always strongly supports Laos’ national reform, defenceand construction.

He also lauded the fruitful cooperation between the Economic, Technology andEnvironment Committee of the Lao NA and the Economic Committee of the VietnamNA, stressing that the Vietnamese legislature will work closely with the Laoside to effectively implement their cooperation agreement.

Hien told the guest that Vietnam is preparing to host the Asia-PacificParliamentary Forum from January 17-21 in Hanoi, and hoped the Lao toplegislator and high-ranking delegation will attend the event as significantsupport for Vietnam.

For his part, Bounpone Sisoulath, who is on a visit to Vietnam fromJanuary 8-13, said that in 2018, the Lao NA will focus on revising the Land Lawand that  his visit aims to learn fromVietnam’s experience in land management and use.

He also pledged that the Economic, Technology and Environment Committeeand the Economic Committee of the Vietnam NA will continue sharing experiencein legislation.

Earlier on January 8, head of the NA Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanhheld talks with the Lao official, during which the two sides shared experiencein building the 2013 Land Law of Vietnam as well as the new points of thelaw.-VNA
