Vietnam, Laos enhance transport cooperation

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport and the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport have agreed to intensify cooperation in aviation, maritime, inland waterway and registration.

During their talks in the Lao southern province of Champassak onDecember 18, between Transport Minister Dinh La Thang and his Laocounterpart Sommad Pholsena committed to continuing to support eachother at international forums and share experience in transportdevelopment.

Accordingly, Vietnam backs Laos’bid to join the International Maritime Organisation and is willing tohelp the neighbour’s preparations for the process. Vietnam will alsohelp Laos in search and rescue activities, as well as facilitates Laos’goods in transit at Vietnam’s ports.

Both sidesstressed the need to actively coordinate in completing a project onconnecting Vietnam-Laos transport, which identifies a suitable expressroute, and another project on strengthening transportation managementand ensuring traffic safety between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on a railway project connecting the two countries.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
