Vietnam joins Diplomatic Cup run in Czech Republic

Prague (VNA) - Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the CzechRepublic joined “Diplomatic Cup 2019” – an annual run for foreign diplomatic missionsthat took place in Stromovka Park in Prague on June 26.

The “Diplomat Cup 2019” run, the fourth of its kind sponsored by the CzechForeign Ministry, aims to promote friendship among foreign diplomatic agencies inthe Czech Republic, and raise funds to support the treatment of visuallyimpaired people in underdeveloped countries.

This year’s event attracted about 180 runners, dividing into 43 groups for the relaycategory.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Lukas Kaucky, the event wasorganised for the first time in 2016 as part of activities to enhance therelations between the Czech Foreign Ministry and foreign diplomatic agencies inthe country.

Tran Vinh Bac, Counsellor  at the Vietnamese Embassyin the Czech Republic, highlighted thesignificance of the event, saying that Vietnamese diplomats’ joining the event contributesto strengthening the ties between the Vietnamese Embassy and the host country’Foreign Ministry, as well as diplomatic agencies of other countries.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
