In late December 2014, the two sides inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendship cooperation. President of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly Motonari Hatahara said after the MoU was signed, the assembly received support from its members and shortly set up a union of local parliamentarians on cooperation and friendship promotion. The visit of his delegation, whose members include Governor Tsugumasa Muraoka and members of the union, aimed to tighten relations between the two sides and examined detailed plans for cooperation in various spheres such as economics, tourism, education and agriculture, he added. Also on August 21, the Mien Dong (Eastern) International University of Binh Duong and the Yamaguchi University inked an MoU on training and student exchange affiliation.-VNA
