Vietnam-Japan family association set up in Japan’s Kyushu-Okinawa region

The association of Vietnam-Japan families has freshly debuted in Japan’s Kyushu-Okinawa region, grouping families whose wives or husbands are Japanese.

Tokyo (VNA) – The association of Vietnam-Japan families has freshly debuted in Japan’s Kyushu-Okinawa region, grouping familieswhose wives or husbands are Japanese.

The region covers seven prefectures on Kyushu island and theOkinawa Prefecture.

In his letter sent to the congress to establish theassociation, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu praised the efforts madeby the Association of Vietnamese in Fukuoka and the provisional executivecommittee of the Vietnam-Japan of Vietnam-Japan families in mobilising support andparticipation for the establishment.

Hieu, also Chairman of the Foreign Ministry’s StateCommittee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, expressed his belief that the new associationwill become a trusted address for connecting, supporting and gathering the community toward a stable and happy life, integration into Japanesesociety, preservation of traditional cultural identities, and contributions tothe two nations’ friendship.

At the congress held at the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuokaon December 25, more than 40 delegates passed the association’s operationcharter and elected the executive board for the 2021-2023 term.

Vietnamese Consul General to Fukuoka Vu Binh pledged toassist the association’s operation.

Chairwoman of the association Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyetstressed her commitment to planning and implementing future activities takinginto account comments and recommendations collected at the congress./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
