Vietnam implements economic recovery policies during, after COVID-19 pandemic

Hanoi (VNA) –
ꦡThe Vietnamese Government has, and is implementing concertedpolicies and measures for economic recovery during and after the COVID-19pandemic, according to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.

At the Foreign Ministry’s regular press conference on May 14,the spokesperson said Vietnam has basically controlled and driven back theCOVID-19 epidemic thanks to drastic and effective prevention measures, whichlaid an important foundation to consolidate the trust of the business communityand domestic and foreign investors. Besidesepidemic control work, the Government has consistently pursued the policy ofpromoting socioeconomic development in order to strengthen the economy’sfoundation and its resilience, Hang said. She elaborated that under this policy, the Government has workedto ensure supply chains and the trade of goods and services in the country aswell as with other countries, while pushing ahead with effort to improve thebusiness and investment environment, cut procedures and costs for enterprises,develop infrastructure and logistics, and actively implement free trade agreementswith partners. The Government has also provided support to enterprises andinvestors in tackling difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic so as tocontinue implementing their investment projects in Vietnam, including allowingexperts and skilled workers to enter Vietnam while ensuring epidemic prevention,the spokeswoman said./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
