HCM City (VNA) – Awide range of telecommunications, information and communications technologiesand solutions are being introduced at the Vietnam ICT COMM and Telefilm 2019,which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on June 6.

The internationalexhibition, held annually by the Ministry of Information and Communications incollaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, drew theparticipation of more than 450 exhibitors from 25 countries and territories.

The exhibitors brought tothe event such products as broadcasting technology, decoding technology, 4G-LTEtechnology, big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IOT),and e-government solutions, among others.

Attending the event, localfilm makers have chance to access to Industry 4.0 television, get updated withthe latest television trend, as well as meet with potential partners.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications HoangVinh Bao stressed besides serving as a bridge to develop cooperative ties amongdomestic and foreign firms, the exhibition offers opportunities for them toexchange advanced technologies in telecommunications, IT and television.

Various seminars arescheduled to be held within the framework of the event, including IT security -strategic trend in 2019, application of AI and Blockchain in connecting marketand online payment and smart startup in the Industry 4.0 era.

The three-day exhibition isexpected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.-VNA

𒅌 Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
