Vietnam honours SOS Children’s Villages Int’l President

President of the SOS Children’s Villages International Siddhathar Kaul has been presented with an insignia for his contributions to humanitarian and development activities in Vietnam.
President of the SOS Children’s Villages International SiddhatharKaul has been presented with an insignia for his contributions tohumanitarian and development activities in Vietnam.

Addressing the ceremony in Hanoi on December 24, PresidentSiddhathar Kaul thanked the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisationsfor providing him with the award, saying he will further engage inchildren support activities.

From 1988 to 2012,Siddhathar Kaul, in charge of the international organisation’sactivities in Vietnam , had helped Vietnam in building SOSchildren’s villages and schools.

He played part incourting international aid for nearly 60 projects in 16 local provincesand cities to help hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese children.

Moreover, he called on domestic and foreign organisations to providehundreds of millions of USD for Vietnam ’s development activities.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
