Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Grand Sale 2021 will take place nationwidefrom July 1 to 31, with discounts of up to 100 percent, heard apress conference in Hanoi on April 28.

Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam TradePromotion Agency Vu Ba Phu said merchants can register to introduce productsand services in line with regulations.

Apart from exhibitions, they can also join traditional festivals in localitiesto develop tourism and e-commerce and encourage cashless payments.

Last year, over 27,450 promotional programmes were held in response tothe event, nearly 1,000 of which offered discounts of 80-100 percent, 1,100 60-79percent, and some 2,500 50-69 percent.

Discounts were mostly on apparel, consumer goods, electronics, andtelecommunications via supermarkets, retail networks, and electronictransaction floors.

According to the General Statistics Office, the total retail of goodsand services reached 431.9 trillion VND last July, up 3.3 percent against Juneand 4.3 percent year-on-year.
