Vietnam, Germany share experience in cooperative development

The Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) and the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV) held a workshop in Hanoi on December 4 to share experience in development cooperation, with a view to establishing a cooperative audit centre in Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) –
The VietnamCooperative Alliance (VCA) and the German Cooperative and RaiffeisenConfederation (DGRV) held a workshop in Hanoi on December 4 to share experiencein development cooperation, with a view to establishing a cooperative auditcentre in Vietnam.

Chairman of the VCA Nguyen Ngoc Bao highlightedthe long-standing relations between the two sides. 

Through the DGRV, some German organisations havesupported Vietnamese cooperatives, he said.

The DGRV has also provided technical assistancefor the VCA over the years to build a project on the establishment of thecentre, he added.

The two sides have organised conferences andtraining workshops to increase awareness of cooperative auditing, ascooperatives need a specific audit system, he said.

He hoped the DGRV will help the VCA sooncomplete the project for submission to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc inmid-December 2018.

At the workshop, German experts sharedexperience in human resources training and introduced successful Germancooperative models.

They also pinpointed difficulties in thedevelopment of cooperatives in Vietnam.

Helmut Pabst, DGRV Project Director in Vietnam,highlighted improving the education and vocational training systems as a factorthat would help ensure the successful operation of cooperatives.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
