Vietnam-funded headquarters handed over to Lao committee

The new headquarters of the Laos-Vietnam cooperation committee was inaugurated in Vientiane on September 9, which is a gift from the Vietnamese Government.

Vientiane (VNA) –
The newheadquarters of the Laos-Vietnam cooperation committee was inaugurated inVientiane on September 9, which is a gift from the Vietnamese Government.

The construction of the four-storey building,which commenced in June 2018, was funded by a non-refundable aid package of 56billion VND (2.4 million USD) from the Vietnamese Government and thecorresponding capital of 4 billion VND from the Lao Government.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, ViceChairman of the Laos-Vietnam cooperation committee Khampheui Keokinnalidescribed the project as a model of the two countries’ cooperation in the newperiod.

He thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government andpeople for supporting Laos in all fields over the past time, and wished thebilateral traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation will continuously thrive.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Laoscooperation committee Nguyen Van Trung said the headquarters will create a betterworking environment for staff at the Laos-Vietnam cooperation committee.

On this occasion, Trung presented 10,000 USD asaid for residents affected by natural disasters in Laos’ central and southernprovinces.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
