Vietnam, Estonia expand economic cooperation

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held the Vietnam-Estonia Business Forum in Hanoi on Nov. 7 on the occasion of Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip’s current visit to Vietnam.

Addressingthe forum, PM Andrus Ansip expressed his wish to expand economiccooperation with Vietnam . He also said bilateral ties between thetwo countries have seen fine development.

VCCI President Vu TienLoc affirmed that the forum is a step to realise the commitments made bythe two governments to boost their economic ties.

Loc said VCCIis ready to be a bridge for agencies of the two governments to developeconomic cooperation between the two countries to a new height.

The same day, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang had a working session with the visiting Estonian businessmen.

MinisterHoang said that the two countries plan to sign agreements on economiccooperation, double taxation avoidance and prevention of income taxfraud and to set up a joint commission to boost bilateral trade.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
