Hanoi (VNA)
- The Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) and Els Performance Golf Academy (EPGA) - the first international golf academy in Vietnam, on March 11 signed a cooperation agreement towards promoting golf movements among young people in Vietnam.

According to Vice Secretary of the VGA Pham Thanh Tri, EPGA is continuously selected as a training establishment for young golf talents by the Vietnam Olympic Committee.

As a golf development partner of the VGA, EPGA has organised monthly nine-hole golf tourney, contributing to introducing and providing more golf playing chances for Vietnamese young people.

EPGA has committed to cooperating with the VGA in training professional golf players through maximising support for the “National golf team” project.

At the signing ceremony, representatives from EPGA affirmed that the academy will be a “development house” of Vietnam’s national Golf team.

They pledged to support the VGA and the Vietnam Sports Administration in developing and organising training programmes for golf teachers and coaches.

CEO of EPGA Andrew Matthews said as the first five-star golf academy in Vietnam, with modern facilities and equipment, EPGA is honoured and proud to cooperate with VGA in improving the quality of golf players in Vietnam.

Tri appreciated EPGA’s support and cooperation, saying that the collaboration will be a lever to help young golf players in particular and the golf movement in Vietnam further develop.

ও A training class for golf coaches from March 11-15 marks the sustainable cooperation between the two sides, Tri said, adding other training classes will be held at EPGA in the time to come.-VNA

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
