The assertion was made by Vietnamese Ambassador in Cambodia Ngo AnhDung, who chaired a meeting with Vietnamese businesses on March 21.

The event drew the participation of about 70 companies investing inCambodia in the fields of agricultural production, telecommunication,aviation, healthcare and banking.

At the meeting,participants were informed of Cambodia’s socio-economic developmentover the past years and its legal policies for Vietnamesebusinesspeople.

Dung further said that Cambodiais an attractive market for foreign investors thanks to its open marketeconomy and relatively clear policies to attract foreign investment.

He also highlighted the sound political relations between Vietnamand Cambodia , which will create favourable conditions for Vietnamesecompanies to succeed in the country.

The ambassadorhighly valued the effective business activities of Vietnameseentrepreneurs, which have partly contributed to Cambodia’s socialwelfare works and to the overseas Vietnamese community.

About 200 Vietnamese companies are operating in Cambodia .

In 2012, bilateral trade reached 3.3 billion USD, and Vietnam becameCambodia ’s second largest trade partner after Thailand.-VNA
