Vietnam faced a tough challenge and were on the back footfrom the off, with Saudi launching attack after attack to pilethe pressure on Quan Van Chuan's goal.

Despite holding their ground well in the initial 15 minutes, theVietnamese defence eventually left ample space for Saudi Arabia toexploit. Saudi Arabia created several good opportunities, but goalkeeper Chuanperformed admirably, making crucial saves.

In the 43rd minute, Al Yami scored the opening goal with a headerthat beat keeper Chuan. With the lead secured, Saudi Arabia continued todominate the match and maintained an offensive approach.

In the 87th minute, Mohammed Maran doubled Saudi Arabia's lead, and shortly after, Zakaria Hawsawi broke the offside trap and calmly scored, extending the lead to 3-0.

During the injury time, Vietnam managed a consolation goal whenMohammed Waheeb Saleh Abu Al Shamat turned the ball into his own net.

This defeat marked the end of Vietnam’s journey in the AsianGames. The Vietnamese Olympic team failed to progress past the group stage, andcoach Hoang Anh Tuan took responsibility for the outcome.

"As the head coach, I accept accountability for thefailure," Tuan said.

"It is evident that, at this stage, apart from the coachingstaff's role, the quality of our young players still falls short compared totop teams on the continent, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia.”

"In order for Vietnamese football to make significantstrides, we must continue to place trust in young players and be prepared toshoulder responsibility when results do not meet expectations. I extend mygratitude to fans nationwide."/.

🎃 Indian writer captivated by Vietnam’s Cham culture

Taking a journey to the Cham Museum — the modest building in Phan Rang –Thap Cham, Indian writer Ankita Mahabir said that the museum might not boast size but it brims with pride for the local community, featuring carefully preserved sandstone sculptures, portraits, and rare artifacts.

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
