Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA) on December 30 launched the Vietnam E-Sports White Paper 2022-2023, a publication jointly produced by VIRESA and OTA Network.

The document aims to provide important and in-depth information in the field of e-sports, helping individuals, organisations, and businesses operate more effectively, while also promoting the development of a professional esports environment in Vietnam.

VIRESA President Do Viet Hung said the document focuses on three main issues: e-sports in the region and the world, an overview of e-sports in Vietnam, and forecast of e-sports development trends in the coming years.

It is considered a guide for investors and businesses, serving as a source of information and direction for the development of Vietnam's e-sports industry, as well as for units operating in this sector, he noted.

The total revenue of the e-sports industry in Vietnam in 2023 hit 5.78 million USD, 11.15% higher than the previous year. The market size is forecast to reach 8.73 million USD by 2027.

Vietnam's e-sports position has been also improved, demonstrated by the organisation and hosting of the e-sports events at SEA Games 31 in May 2022 and SEA Games 32 in May 2023.

Vietnamese e-sports athletes topped the overall rankings at SEA Games 31, came fourth at SEA Games 32, and became champions at the PUBG Mobile championship at the Global Esports Games 2022, the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2022, and the FIFAe Continental Cup 2022.

𒈔 The Vietnam E-Sports White Paper 2022-20233 is available in both Vietnamese and English. Readers can download it at //sachtrang.viresa.org.vn/./.
