Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Cuba need to continueboosting cooperation in politics, economic-trade and investment in an effectivemanner, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said at areception for Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcelino MedinaGonzalez in Hanoi on September 6.
During the meeting, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh lauded theoutcomes of the recent fourth political consultation at the Deputy ForeignMinister level, saying that it contributes to consolidating solidarity betweenthe two nations and two ministries.
Minh praised Cuba for its achievements over the years,reiterating the support the Party, State and people of Vietnam have for theCuban people.
The two sides should promote cooperation in various areas,such as agriculture, construction material, consumer goods, renewable energy,biotechnology, medicine and pharmacy while supporting each other atinternational organisations.
For his part, Deputy Minister Marcelino Medina Gonzalez saidCuba attaches significance to studies of Vietnam’s experience in the Doi Moi(renewal) process.
Previously during his visit to Vietnam from September 4-6, theCuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister HaKim Ngoc co-chaired the fourth political consultation at the Deputy ForeignMinister level.
He also had separate meetings with Minister of ConstructionPham Hong Ha, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam – Cuba Intergovernmental Committee;Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Tran Dac Loi; and visited theDiplomatic Academy of Vietnam.-VNA
