Vietnam, Cuba parties share theoretical, practical viewpoints

He spoke of the two nations’ sharedideology and goals in national development processes and theirresolution in safeguarding revolutionary fruits to firmly defendnational sovereignty and independence.

The Cuban hostsaid he considered Vietnam’s achievements in national development andsocialism-building process in the past as valuable lessons for Cuba.

He noted robust developments in friendship and all-facetedcooperation between the two nations, stressing the need to seekadditional measures to boost bilateral trade and investment as well ascoordination at international forums.

Machado Venturasaid the second theory seminar provided a good opportunity for the pairto learn from their respective valuable theoretical and practicalexperience drawn during the socialism-building course.

Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, expressedVietnam’s full support for Cuban people in weathering all difficultiesand challenges to build a prosperous socialist society.

He presented an overview of Vietnam’s nearly-three-decade renewalcause, highlighting socio-political stability, people’s improved livingstandards, expanded external relations and an annual 7-percent economicgrowth rate.

Vuong also informed his host about theCommunist Party of Vietnam’s preparations for its 12 th congress,slated for the first quarter of 2016.

On thisoccasion, the two sides also signed a cooperation agreement that looksto deepen cooperation and relations between the two parties.

On the day, the second theory seminar, which focused on the Party’srole in updating socio-economic models in Cuba and the “Doi moi”(renewal) process in Vietnam, concluded.

Heads of theCuban and Vietnamese delegations, Salvador Valdes Mesa and Tran QuocVuong affirmed Cuba’s socio-economic model update and Vietnam’s renewalprocess shared the same political nature and encounter similarchallenges during their socialism-building course.

They agreed that the outcomes of the seminar would serve the twocountries to reap more successes in national building and defence.
