Vietnam conifer recognised as national heritage

Nghe An (VNA) - A population of 56 Vietnam conifer trees and 5 phay sung (Duabanga grandiflora)trees in Pu Hoat Nature Conservation Centre in central Nghe An province havebeen recognised as Vietnam Heritage Trees. The Vietnam Association forConservation of Nature and Environment granted a certificate of the recognitionat an event on November 28. Among thousands of conifer trees inthe centre, those recognised as heritage trees have a diameter of 4-5 metres,height of 50-70 metres and are about 100 years old. They were recognised fortheir scientific and economic value and their influence on the cultural and religiouslife of ethnic people in border areas. At the certificate granting event,the Vietnam Association for Conservation ofNature and Environment asked Pu Hoat Nature Conservation Centre and relevantagencies to care for and protect the trees. Lying in the western Nghe AnBiosphere Reserves, Pu Hoat centre has thousands of rare and valuable animalsand trees. Vietnameseconifer trees are famous for their soft, durable scented wood and are agenus of one or two species of evergreen coniferous trees of the cypressfamily. They are native to northern Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Laos.-VNA

🅰 Hanoi to roll out policies supporting green transport transition

Under the plan, from 2025 to 2026, the city will complete mechanisms and policies to support businesses in switching to green vehicles, expand the electric and green-energy bus network, and build charging stations. The targeted proportion of green buses is set at 10% in 2025 and 20–23% in 2026.
