Vietnam Coast Guard supports needy fishermen

Quang Nam (VNA) –
The Vietnam Coast Guard HighCommand and authorities of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces on May 8 presentedgifts to fishermen in difficult circumstances in the two central coastallocalities.

More than 400 gift packages, including cash, rice and facemasks, were handed over to the fishermen, residing in Tam Giang and Tam Quangcommunes in Quang Nam’s Nui Thanh district, and Binh Dong and Binh Thanhcommunes in Quang Ngai’s Binh Son district.

Major General Doan Bao Quyet, Deputy PoliticalCommissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, said apart from raising the awareness ofresidents in 28 coastal cities and provinces about COVID-19 prevention andcontrol, the coast guard force has called for material and spiritual support oforganisations and individuals for the combat.

The force will make great efforts to help authoritiesand people in coastal localities deal with consequences of the disease, promotesocio-economic development and consolidate national defence and security, hesaid./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
