Vietnam, China should develop stable ties together: Party official

Developing the Vietnam-China traditional relationship in a more fruitful,stable and healthier manner is the common responsibility of both sides and alsoan inevitable and objective requirement in accordance with the basic interestsand aspirations of the two countries’ people, said a senior Party official.

Politburo member andpermanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’sSecretariat Tran Quoc Vuong made the remarks at a reception in Hanoi on January14 for a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Director ofthe CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Department Song Tao.

Vuong told the gueststhat amid profound and unpredictable changes in the world and the region aswell as continued reforms in both Vietnam and China, besides advantages, thetwo nations have been facing a lot of challenges.

He suggestedministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam and China step up practical andeffective cooperation in all spheres as the two nations are celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.

Regarding differences, Vuongstressed that, based on the common perceptions of high-ranking leaders of thetwo Parties and States, the two sides should join hands to find outsatisfactory solutions, properly settle disagreements through peacefulmeasures, and comply with international law.

For his part, Songaffirmed that the Party, Government and people of China always attachimportance to developing the traditional and friendly neighbourliness withVietnam and stand ready to join hands with their Vietnamese counterparts toimplement the common perceptions of senior leaders of the two Parties andStates and signed documents, thus developing the bilateral comprehensivestrategic cooperative partnership both intensively and extensively and bringingpractical benefits to the people of the two nations.

He voiced his hope thatthe two sides would continue deploying exchange activities through Party, Stateand people channels in 2020, thereby strengthening the firm foundation forrelations between the two Parties, States and people of China and Vietnam.

The same day, Chairmanof the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang BinhQuan held talks with Song Tao, during which the two sides exchanged views onrelations between the two Parties, States and cooperation activities in therecent past.

They also discussedplans to boost cooperative ties and exchanges between the CPV and CPC, betweenthe CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and the CPCCentral Committee’s International Liaison Department and between publicorganisations in 2020./.
