HaGiang (VNA) – The Xin Man (Vietnam)-Dulong (China) border gate pairwas officially opened at a ceremony on March 26.

Ha Thi Minh Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Ha Giang PeopleCommittee, stressed the significance of the border gate pair, which she said,is expected to contribute to spurring socio-economic development in the borderarea and building a common border line of peace, friendship, stability,cooperation and development.

The border gate will also facilitate export-import activitiesand promote the exchange of goods between border residents of the twocountries, Hanh said.

Wenshan’s Deputy Governor  Ma Zhishan highlightedcooperation between Wenshan and Ha Giang over the past years, pledging that theWenshan People’s Government will intensify coordination with Ha Giang to createthe best possible conditions for organisations and individuals to conductexport-import, immigration and investment activities at the border gate.

Wenshan will pushthe building of commercial centres to contribute to border economic developmentand the improvement of the life of the two countries’ border residents, hesaid.

In 2017, Ha Gianghas made all-out efforts in streamlining administrative procedures, andsupporting businesses, organisations and individuals in export-import.

As a result,total export-import revenue through border gates in the locality reached 550million USD, representing 110 percent of the set target.

Goods handled viathe border gates are mainly agricultural products, machines and spare parts, amongothers. -VNA
